DRESS FORM CHRISTMAS GIFTS

So these are the gifts I made for my sister in laws for Christmas. I got the idea from a UStream virtual crop that YourPaperPantry (it's a cool ning site) held in November. I know there are a ton of Youtube videos on these dressforms, this is just my take on it. You can find the dressforms at Michaels in the childrens wood craft section. It is originally intended to be used as a jewelery holder. There are holes that run through the shoulders and a dowel slides right across, I plugged up the holes with wood putty and sanded them smooth. You then paint, cover with paper and embellish away!!

Hope you like them :)

Much love,
Yolanda

AND THE WINNER IS.....

This post is so very late in being posted, please accept my apologies in advance.

What a week.....trust me you don't want to know, lol.

Let's just sum it up. Read all the way through it's good for at least a few laughs!

8 dozen cupcakes, tree decorating (a little late huh?), fractured tooth (one of the twins), 3 class parties, 3 days of work, hubby's "goodie day" at work that he so kindly signed me up to make a bajillion pigs in a blanket and Magic Cookie Bars (which are divine by the way), multiple trips to Target, Walmart, Kohl's and JcPenny's looking for Mario and Luigi pajamas for "Pajama Day" for the twins, mailing out a swap, a prize and a bottle swap. Whew! I'm wiped out.

What can I say after a week like that?.......TGIF!!! Oh wait....tommorrow is tamale making day with the family.

Even though things get hectic and sometimes I feel in over my head (usually of my own doing) I've got alot to be thankful for, the number one thing being that I AM ABLE....

So without further ado.....drumroll please.........the winner of the blog candy for the Thank You Gift blog hop is......

mamascrapper69 aka Stephanie Collins aka stephanoid69

Congrats to you!!!

Much love (and a grip load of words)
Yolanda

THANK YOU GIFTS BLOG HOP

Welcome Holiday Hoppers! I am the last stop on this awesome Thank You Gift blog hop hosted by Joy over at Joy's Life.com. What an awesome idea!

So if you are on the right trail you have just hopped over here from Tracy's blog. If not, then check her out and then come back. Or you can start at the very beginning with Joy.

So I had extreme technical difficulties and had to be creative with what I was going to share on this hop. This video is actually the type of project I created for this hop but not the actual project. My Flip camera is having issues today and I couldn't film the new video to save my life! So I went back into my "video archives" and pulled up this video. Let me tell you that I use these cards as gifts year after year and they make THE BEST gifts for teachers, friends and family. Just change up the saying that you print on the cards and you have an awesome gift!

If and when I get my Flip camera to record without failing me :( I will post the video later. In the mean time, be inspired by all the awesome projects you've hopped through and have a beautiful holiday with your friends and family.

Oh wait, what would a blog hop be without BLOG CANDY?!? So leave me a comment below along with a way to contact you and I will choose a winner for a $10 gift card to Joann's Fabrics (if you don't have a Joann's in your town, then a Michaels card).

Much Love,

Yolanda

Ruthie's Banner Blog Hop

Welcome! I'm so super excited to be participating in Ruthie's Banner blog hop! This is my very first time ever doing it and I had a blast!

So this is the banner that I created. I've taken two pictures of it, one lying flat on my craft table and the other standing.

I've used a beautiful paper collection from My Minds Eye, Melissa Frances chipboard, the Cricut cartidges Winter Woodland and Joys of the Season. I've cut poinsettia's out of wool felt too!

Be sure to check out my Youtube video on the banner.

For my blog candy giveaway I will be giving a "JOY" banner kit similar to what I've created. The chipboard will be a different shape, but it will use the same paper collection. So please sign up to follow my blog and leave a comment on this post. I will choose a winner on Monday Nov 8th.

Bottle Swap Sign Ups Start Today

So today the "official" sign ups start for my second plastic bottle swap. It will be a 2 liter this time around. Check out my Youtube channel (yoliebean) to watch the videos on the first swap I hosted. It was so much fun. I'm also going to be uploading a video to Youtube in a bit regarding this swap. Take a look....

So the way you sign up is to send me an email to yoliebean@gmail.com with "Bottle Swap" in the subject line. Please include your full name, Youtube name (if you have a channel) and street address. I will be contacting everyone as a group when sign ups close on Wednesday the 10th.

U.S. swappers only, sorry. It can be very pricey to ship international. And there are limitations as to what type of container you can put in the mail.

All the details will follow....Let's just get you all signed up first!

Neglected Blog

So I finally set up a blog, and then turn right around and neglect it. Shame on me. As we all can relate to, family, work and all that life stuff keeps you busy. I've been busy getting my daughters ready for a school talent show, putting together my very first card kit and hosting my first ever swap! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I plan on updating regularly, just as soon as the talent show is over with. So stay tuned.

In ending this post I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes.

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world- Anne Frank
